Thiruvananthapuram: UST, a global leader in digital transformation, has officially announced the launch of GenCyS 2025, its flagship global cybersecurity conference.
Set to take place on August 23-24, 2025, GenCyS 2025 aims to spotlight the future of cybersecurity by blending AI innovation with human expertise.
The event will include a high-stakes Capture The Flag (CTF) competition, offering a total reward pool worth ₹7.5 lakh, including a ₹1.5 lakh cash prize for the winning team and exclusive non-cash benefits from top cybersecurity partners.

More than 1,000 teams and 4,000 participants from across India are expected to join this year’s edition. The CTF competition is open for registration until July 30, 2025, with an online qualifier round on August 2. The top 50 teams will advance to a 24-hour grand finale, which will take place in-person at UST’s state-of-the-art campus in Thiruvananthapuram.

The GenCyS 2025 CTF challenge will feature advanced, real-world cybersecurity scenarios including Red Team vs Blue Team simulations, AI-based detection systems, and live hacking challenges that push participants to demonstrate their technical and analytical skills in high-pressure environments.
